General Patton Memorial Museum
Named after General George Patton, who handpicked this site and was the first commander of the Desert Training Center, this museum is a tribute to the more than one million men who were trained on the site for the the WWII effort. This portion of the desert is similar to North Africa, allowing Patton to trainhis men in the same harsh conditions that they would eventually encounter in the war. This became the world's largest military installation both in size and population stretching from Arizona to Nevada to California. The museuam is housed in a 7000 square foot building.
